PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. – October 5, 2020 – Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners announced it achieved compliance with the National Institute of Standards of Technology’s (NIST) 800-171, a rigorous cybersecurity framework consisting of 171 security controls and processes.
NIST 800-171 governs Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) – information considered sensitive but not entirely classified – held by organizations and companies outside the federal government. The standard was developed to ensure non-classified information and systems are safeguarded using robust, standardized cybersecurity methods and processes.
Whether exploring use cases for autonomous mobility, connected IoT devices or other smart city solutions, Curiosity Lab’s NIST 171 compliance ensues users are operating in a secure environment and their proprietary information is protected. Curiosity Lab’s NIST compliance also opens the door for federal agencies and academic researchers to test and explore emerging technologies using the Lab’s one-of-a-kind infrastructure and technology ecosystem.
